Using Obbi from your Phone
Obbi works great from either desktop, laptop, tablet or phone.
Whether you're a greenkeeper, part of the maintenance team, or responsible for critical safety walkabouts, you've got a new tool in your kit — the Obbi Mobile App. Designed to make safety and compliance as straightforward as possible, Obbi lets you manage tasks, report issues, and ensure you're doing your part to make the club safer for everyone. Let's dive into how you can make the most of it.
How to Use Obbi on your Mobile Device
First things first, you need to get the app on your phone. It's available for both iOS and Android, so head over to your app store, search for “Obbi”, and download it. Or, you can grab it directly from the stores below:
Once installed, open the app and log in with the credentials you've been given. You'll land on the dashboard, which is your one-stop-shop for everything you'll be doing.
Navigating the App
The home page on the Obbi Mobile App is pretty simple. We've kept it that way on purpose. We want safety compliance to be easy for you - not another source of stress. The home page is where you'll find your tasks for the day, access safety checks, and see your overall compliance status. The key sections include your task list, where you can see what needs to be done, and the overview of your personal compliance priorities.
These tasks are assigned to you based on your team membership, so you'll only see the things that are relevant to you in your role.
Recording Checks
Carrying out and recording a check in the Obbi Mobile App is very straightforward. Simply pick the task from the list, read any instructions or notes left by your manager, then run through the questions.
If there are any problems with your task report, Obbi will let you know.
Important Note About Failed Tasks
It's important to remember that just because a task or check is failed, doesn't mean you shouldn't record it. For example, if a temperature or pressure reading is out of the acceptable range, you still need to submit the report so that the right people in the club know.
This is especially important for maintaining a good audit trail of what was going wrong and when - which is crucial if there is ever an incident and evidence of compliance is required later.
Offline Mode
One of the best things about the Obbi Mobile App is that it works offline. So, if you're out in a part of the course with spotty internet, you can still get things done. The app will save your reports and sync them up once you're back in range. Just carry on with your tasks, and the app will take care of the rest.
Reporting Safety or Maintenance Issues
While doing your checks, if you come across something that's not quite right, whether it's a broken sprinkler or a safety hazard, reporting it is just a few taps away. From your task report, just scroll to where your manager has set up a question for reporting comments or issues.
You can even snap a photo and add it to your report for clarity, which is great for keeping a defensible record of when issues were reported.
Whatever you record here will automatically create a follow-up Action for your manager to prioritise. For more information on this, check out the Actions page.
QR Codes
See a QR code on a piece of equipment or at a location? Whip out your Obbi app and scan it. This handy feature gives you instant access to perform checks or report issues related to that item or area. It's a real time-saver and ensures nothing gets missed.
There is no need to install any 3rd party QR scanners - it all works from within the Obbi Mobile App straight out of the box.
